Hero Stories for November 2008

Received my bracelets today. They are beautiful. I look at the one I got to honor my father who is a veteran of the Korean War and get very emotional. I got one to honor the service man whose name I wore during Viet Nam, too. Thank you for the reminder that many great people have sacrificed and protected us. Our son 1st Lt. Travis L. Manion, USMC was killed on April 29, 2007 in an ambush in Al Anbar.  He was able to pull to safety two of his wounded marines before he was hit by a sniper.  On Dec. 5, 2008, he will  be awarded the Bronze Star with Valor and the Silver Star. i am 100% disabled and have raised my only child, spc adam gregory by myself. His grandfather, my dad, served 31 years in the us army and served in the Korean war and twice went to vietnam.
