My bracelet is of my son Lt. Johnny Craver, killed in Iraq on 10/13/06.
He had served 18 years in the Army. He was a Ranger instructor stationed
at Ft. Benning, Georgia. He had a wife and 3 children. I am sending you
a page in his memory that I want you to read to show what a wonderful
man he was.

I purchased my HeroBraclet in November 2006 after hearing about a young soldier, PFC Caleb A. Lufkin, US Army, who died of injuries sustained in Iraq. I first became aware of who this young man was on CNN's "Combat Hospital" where he was briefly profiled. PFC Lufkin sustained extensive injuries in Iraq on May 4, 2006 and later died at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. His story touched me and I wanted to do something to remember his life and his sacrifice. I have since added a Hero Braclet for...

I thought I'd share how I feel about the HeroBracelets I ordered - and wear - in the hope that some of it may rub off on others.
First off, I have a 22-year-old nephew who is a Marine serving on Embassy Detail - first in Pakistan, now in Peru. My Dad was in General Patton's Armored Army (743rd Tank Battalion) and landed on Omaha Beach on D-Day+1. My first year of college was served at USMA.
But, to put it mildly, I have a real big problem with the war in Iraq. Only those who have been touched...

My name is Yolanda Jimenez and I am from Sacramento California. I teach eighth grade English at a low income school. I wear a HeroBracelet with the name Pvt Jason Deibler on it. I have owned two bracelets with his name on them because my three year old took the first one and has it hidden with all of her treasures. Many students have asked why I wear the bracelet and I have told them that it is a reminder that men and women have died for our country. Adults see it and ask if I support the war...

My son, SSgt Kevin Paul Welsh is currently in Iraq for his 2nd
deployment. He is most definitely MY HERO. He joined the Marines
almost 12 years ago. His Father and I are very proud of him and what he
is doing. When he was in Iraq the last time was when I found out about
the Hero Bracelet. I ordered one for myself. It wasn't long before
other family members wanted one. He even asked me to get one that said
Grandson. I wasn't sure why because his Grandfather who was in the
Marines passe...

My name is Marvin Gammage; I retired from the Navy after 24 years active service.
I wear a bracelet inscribed with the name of Army CW3 Wesley C. Fortenberry of Woodville, TX, who fell in battle near Baghdad 11 April 2004--4 months before my retirement.
I love Chuck Fortenberry as the brother I never had--in fact, he introduced me as his brother anytime we were running around and cutting up; I called us "twins sons of different mothers." We had "traveled some," as they say, and Chuck never ce...

My Hero Bracelet is in honor of the first Woman American Native Indian that lost her life in Iraq. I learned about her death on ABC's Extreme Home Makeover when ABC not only built her family a new home but also built a center that honors fallen Native American Indians lost in war. If I remember correctly it was like a community center or something like that. Anyway, the story of her and her families poverty on the reservation and her giving her life for her country, also the fact that she was...

I purchased a HeroBracelet for my husband when his best friend, PFC Sean D Tharp was killed in action on March 28, 2006. My husband served with him and his loss really affected him during the deployment. He kept telling me that he wanted to get something to remember Tharp by and when I came across HeroBracelets I knew that would be just what he was needing.
My husband was due back from Iraq just a couple of weeks before Christmas so I kept the bracelet a secret and decided to give it to him...

I wear a bracelet with my son's name on it. Cpl Zachary A. Kolda, USMC, KIA 12-1-2004
My bracelet was given to me by a young man in Zak's unit. Zak's brother has one given to him by a Navy sailor who went to high school with both he and Zak. I don't know how many others are wearing his name, although I've purchased and given away a couple dozen.
