Cpl. Christopher J. Boyd, 22, of Palatine, Illinois, died August 19, 2010, while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. Cpl. Boyd was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, IMarine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California.
