ATTENTION ALL TEXAS KOREAN WAR VETERANS

June 25th, 2010 will mark the 60th anniversary of the start of the Korean War. The Korean War Veterans, Texas Lone Star Chapter in Houston has taken the initiative to have a special commemoration ceremony on that day at the Texas Korean War Veterans Memorial on the State Capitol grounds in Austin. As the organization that was the driving force in building the Memorial, we want to reach out to all our fellow Korean War veterans to come and join us in this special ceremony.

The ceremony will take place on June 25th at 11 AM. The location will be the Texas Korean War Veterans Memorial in the northwest section of the State Capitol grounds. The Monument is directly in front of the Reagan Office Building. Our featured speaker will be Dr. Robert Ivany, Major General, U.S. Army (Retired), currently President, University of St. Thomas in Houston, and the Honorable Yun Soo Cho, Consul General, Republic of Korea.

We have invited a number of special guests, including the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Speaker of the Texas House and other State officials, and Korean dignitaries such as Mr. Woo Sung Han, President, Samsung Austin Semiconductor Corporation, and plan to have extensive media coverage as well.

We do not see this as a veterans organization event. Everyone is invited, especially all Korean War Veterans, regardless of what veterans organization they belong to, or even if they do not belong to any group.

If you are a Korean War Veteran then this event is for you.

Plan to come and be a part of this very special event. You won’t regret
