Funeral procession for GY Sgt Gilbert.

GY Sgt Gilbert, who was critically wounded in Afghanistan and then died at Bethesda Hospital on his birthday Tuesday March 16, 2010, will be coming home Tuesday March 23.  Richfield AMVETS Post 176 Riders will be waiting for him at Cleveland Hopkins Airport to escort him to Catavolos funeral home in Fairlawn.  We are asking that all veterans and anyone else that rides a motorcycle ride with us and make Gunny proud to be an American.  We will meet at the airport no later than 1300 hours.  The exact location is not  known at this time, but we will have people at the entrance to direct you from there.  The route will be:

71 South to route 82, turn left onto 82 and go east to Broadview Rd.  Turn right onto Broadview Rd heading south.  We will ride to the Richfield Veterans Memorial at RT 303 and 176.  From there we will travel to Brecksville Rd. and turn right.  Go to Smith Rd. in Fairlawn and turn right.  Take Smith Rd. to Market St. and turn right to the funeral home.  After we deliver Gunny to the Funeral home there will be a gathering at Richfield AmVETS post 176 at 3944 Wheatley Rd. and 77.  Anyone interested please call Don Zito at 440-263-4583 or Donny Hartman at 330-697-7331,  We will ride rain or shine.

The visiting hours will be from 2 pm until 8pm on Saturday, March 27.  His funeral will be held Sunday March 28 at approximately 10:00am at the Revere High School.  After that we will be escorting him to Brimfield where he will be buried with honor.  Again we are asking for everyone to ride with us.  Anyone who does not or can not ride please line the route and pay your respects to a true he
