Gold Star Park
Mark the Date of September 11, 2010 for the dedication of the Veterans Memorial Gold Star Healing & Peace Garden
at 950 Edgar Street, York, Pennsylvania 17403. Located within York's Veterans Memorial Park, the Gold Star Garden
is a public place set aside to recognize all Veterans who have served in the US Armed Forces and will especially honor those who have fallen in the war on terror. The Garden is comprised of a series of rooms planted in certain colors that reflect core values. When one enters the Walk of the Intrepid through the "rooms", visitors are encouraged to reflect on these values:
Red is for Courage, Orange is for Duty/Service, Yellow for Integrity and Remembrance, Green for Healing, Blue for Fidelity and Purple for Valor and white in the center for honor. All rooms are connected to the center to encourage unity. Find here the Wall of Valor where the names of the fallen in the war on terror will be inscribed.
Everyone is invited to this quiet meditative setting to remember, leave your emotional burdens, find refreshment and move forth back into the everyday world."
